These Tips Will Help You Stay Well Hydrated Throughout The Day. Drinking enough water seems to be a problem for many. But the mix of drinks, beers and necessary wines is not ... you don't find that strange. Before you continue reading this article, first grab a glass of water and drink it before you finish the article. Succeeded? Eight glasses of water to go. Drinking more water with these tips will be a breeze for you.
1. Know how much water to drink
First of all: know how much water you have to drink in a day. By creating a goal for yourself that you can work towards, you become more motivated to achieve that goal. For adults, it is recommended to drink about one and a half to two litres of water per day, under normal circumstances. That is about eight to ten glasses of water.
2. Adapt to your situation
That one and a half to two litres of water applies under normal circumstances. Those days when you don't exercise much more, or lose extra water by sweating a lot. If this is the case, then you must take this into account. In addition to those two litres, drink even more.
3. Look at your urine
This may not be the tastiest thing to look at, but your urine clearly indicates whether you drink enough water or not. Is it dark in colour? Then you do not drink enough water. Urine with a light yellow colour is the best. Then you are sufficiently hydrated. Is it almost transparent? Then you have drunk more than enough water and you can decrease for a while.
4. Have a bottle or glass to hand
If you spend a lot of time working at a desk or table during the day, it is advisable to keep a filled bottle or glass next to you. Please note: you always grab it instinctively. That way you have to make minimal effort to drink enough, but you still get enough water.
5. Make water more attractive
Many people find it difficult to drink enough water because water is rather tasteless. They simply get bored of it. Fortunately there is a solution for that: with a few pieces of sliced fruit and herbs you give water a taste. For example, you can add some lemon and immediately grab some vitamin C.
If the water is starting to come out of your ears for a moment, there are fortunately other drinks that you can drink as well. You'll be delighted to hear, coffee is one of them, but without sugar or milk. If you alternate water with coffee, it is important to know how many cups of coffee are good for you, also for your sports performance. Tea is also a good variation on water.
7. Don't drink too much
Drinking enough water is important, but don't worry too much about it. Although it does not happen often, it is possible to drink too much water, causing you to have water poisoning. This can lead to nausea, headache and vomiting and in extreme cases even death (but then you have to drink severe quantities). If you feel that you have drunk enough water, then do not continue.
